Three Leaps prompt Gorgeous Transformation - Chronicle of Ten Years Development of Nanjing Chemical Construction Co., Ltd

        Nanjing Chemical Construction Co., Ltd., a large comprehensive construction company bearing various General Contracting Grade One Certificates, was established since April 1956, and was formerly named Shaft Engineering Company directly under the Construction Bureau of Ministry of Heavy Industry, the No. 5 Engineering Company of Chemical Ministry, the No.8 Chemical Construction Company of Chemical Industry and Sinopec Nanjing Chemical Group Construction Company. On November 30, 2007, it was reformed and renamed Nanjing Chemical Construction Co., Ltd.

        Ten years after reform, NCC completed projects in various industries both in China and abroad, and received more than 180 Awards, including National Excellent Construction Enterprise, Contract Honoring and Creditable Enterprise in Jiangsu Province, National New Hi-tech Enterprise.
Leap on Internal Grow -  Industry-University-Research Collaboration for Potentiality Exploit

         In the early period of reform, NCC, no longer a state-owned enterprise had to explore her potentiality in order to survive in the market.  For this purpose, NCC joins hands with Universities for technology research and collaboration.

         NCC has various trainings to improve cadre’s quality.  Professors from Nanjing University of Science and Technology and chemical construction industry are invited to give lectures. Cadres in middle level attended the lectures on management given by the experts from Communist Party Institute of Jiangsu Province Communist Committee.   NCC spent 896 thousand Yuan on Constructor Training by Hangzhou Xinrui Intellectual Industry Co., Ltd. and spent 761.2 thousand Yuan on engineering English training. 33 cadres on technology or management attended this 6 months English language training. Such training was to foster comprehensive talents with technical knowledge and fluent English for overseas market exploration.  

        NCC signed Agreement on Industry-University-Research Cooperation with Changzhou University, Nanjing University of Technology, Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Dalian University of Science and Technology, and achieved some awards. The Project of “Four-shaft-expansion type pipe internal inspection traveler” collaborated with Changzhou University has qualified by China Machinery Industry Federation. The Graduate Work Station jointly established with Changzhou University is rewarded as “Jiangsu Province Enterprise Graduate Work Station” by Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Provincial Government and Education Department of Jiangsu Provincial Government.  

Leap on Business Restructure – Intellectual Upgrading for New Space 

        As the former No. 8 Chemical Construction Company of Chemical Industry Ministry, NCC used to focus on petrochemical construction general contracting projects. However, the Government further strengthens the environment protection and threshold for chemical project approval is pushed higher, NCC has to restructure her business. 

        In such changing market, NCC proactively explore the market outside petrochemical and chemical construction, and break thought on industries of photovoltaic power generation, bioengineering and combined heat and power generation. NCC cut projects of Tianchang 100MW Photovoltaic Power Generation Project, the largest photovoltaic power station in North Anhui Province, Xinjiang Kaisai (Wusu) Bioengineering Project and Gaoyang Cogeneration Project. These Projects prompt and encourage business restructure.

        NCC receives awards after intellectual upgrading.  In recent 3 years, NCC received 3 patents for invention, 46 patents for utility model awarded by State Intellectual Property Office, 19 computer software copyright awarded by National Copyright Admin., 9 science and technology achievements qualified by Ministries, including 3 achievements at National Advanced Level, 1 achievement at Industrial Leading Level and 5 achievements at Industrial Advanced Level, 2 achievements awarded as Chemical Construction Science and Technology Innovation Achievement, 5 Methodology Achievements at Ministry Level. The “Nanjing Municipal Petrochemical Plant Energy Save and Environment Protection Equipment Engineering Technology Research Center”established by NCC is certified by Nanjing Municipal Science and Technology Committee as Municipal Level Engineering Technology Research Center. These achievements are positive proof of business restructure and technology innovation.  

Leap on Market Redirection- Build Business Reputation for Going Globe

        In New Normal and severe domestic market competition, NCC facing the challenge follows the market trend and go globe proactively for market exploration.  Lead by State policy of “Belt and Road” and “International Productivity Collaboration”, NCC places the focus on overseas marketing in addition to domestic marketing. NCC bid the projects of Credit from India,  Sinar Mas from Indonesia, PVC Integration Project from Ethiopia,  Oil Refinery Project from Mozambique, Petrochemical Project (6 Packages) from PETRONAS Malaysia, University City Project from Kuwait, Genting Biology Refinery Integration Project from Malaysia, Hengyi (Brunei) PMB Petrochemical Project. NCC top management visited the market and Owners for project investigation.

         Continuous overseas marketing push the NCC development. This year, NCC cut the contract on Hengyi (Brunei) PMB Petrochemical Project for three packages of Sulfur Recovery Integration Plant, West Tank Farm and East Tank Farm, and Oil Product Storage and Transport Integration Project, with total contract value in 2.45 Billion Yuan, which is a historical breakthrough in overseas marketing.
